False lashes to me are like books on Philosophy. I love them, I own a good few of them and they're fantastic to look at and think about using... but I don't really understand them. Like my various book on philosophy (bought for my school work) they spend lots of time in drawers and on shelves never really being used to their full potential! But I've decided that I'm going to get to grips with them. (The lashes I mean, I've given up on understanding metaphysics.) And while I do I'll be reviewing all the ones I try on here so hopefully I can share the ones I likes, the ones I found easy to apply and the ones that didn't annoy the bejesus out of me with anyone else out there looking to start using false lashes or expand their collection.
The first pair I'm reviewing are from No7 a Boots own brand here in the UK ( though i have seen them on Ebay before) and these are the #40 Intense Volume. They come with their own glue which is actually ok, though not as good as, say, Duo glue but nice for practice. They're also Hypo-allergenic which I'm going to assume is a good thing for some people and they retail at £7.50 which is pricey for a pair of lashes but I actually bought these with one of those £5 vouchers they keep throwing at you so I got them for £2.50! Bargain!
I've worn these about 4 times now and I really do like them, they're a bit fiddly to apply as they have quite a thick band so they're not as flexible as they could be but once you've battled a bit they look really lovely. They aren't too long and certainly don't look 'fake'. They give a sleek look but adding a little cutesy flutter at the same time. They're relatively comfortable but again due to the thick band I was always aware to some degree that they were there so they aren't really suitable for long periods of time. I might not recommend these to a total beginner, but for someone like me who's got a bit of experience they're great for a natural enhancement to your eyes and a good way for me to start off my lash series!
Do you like false lashes? What other brands do you think I should try or what do you want to see reviews on?

Deletehey Gorgeous! the lashes look stunning with your big blue eyes!! if it wasn't so difficult to apply the lashes I would definitely wear them more often... I need to practice :D this pair look amazing!! the eyelashes are so fine and look natural! I really like their shape and lenght =)
ReplyDeleteThankyou sweetie :) It definitely takes practice, sometimes I'm faffing about for ten minutes! I'd really recommend these ones though :3
DeleteOoh, I love falsies~ <3 I tend to get mine from asian online retailers like YesStyle and Pretty & Cute. The best ones, I find, are usually ones with clear bands. They seem to be more flexible, not to mention they look more seamless. And yeah, they're a bugger to use for the first few times, but after a while it becomes second nature
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, clear bands = more comfy and more realistic looking :) I'll definitely give those sites a try!
DeleteWow, love these! I'm always looking for nice false eyelashes, so I think I'll definitely give these a try :) x
ReplyDeleteI'd really recommend them :)
DeleteI tend to buy my false eyelashes from a brand a Japanese brand called Diamond Lash which you can buy on ebay. It's about £12 for 5 pairs which is a pretty good deal.
ReplyDeleteI think I've seen them, they come in the trays right? I shall give those a go! Thanks for the recommendation :)

I've got naturally long eyelashes anyway, but when I go out I love wearing falsies to add a bit more volume. My absolute favourites are the Eylure Kimberley ones :)
